Bryce Dallas Howard, director of Star Wars Disney Plus series like The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and Skeleton Crew, has confirmed that she will be directing two episodes of the second season of Ahsoka.
Earlier reports suggested that Bryce Dallas Howard was among the directors working on the second season of the series, a list which also includes Jennifer Getzinger, Anders Engström, and series creator, showrunner, and writer Dave Filoni. Yesterday, at a panel during the Los Angeles Comic Con, she confirmed that she was taking part in the second season of the series. She had nothing but the highest of praise for the story she got to help tell, holding Filoni in high regard as a friend and colleague:
“It’s so good! It is so. Good. It is beautiful, it is thrilling, it is adventurous, it is romantic, it is all the things that you want from an epic story – and I adore Dave Filoni. I would do anything for and with Dave Filoni. He’s an extraordinary leader and visionary, and he’s super funny, and the guy knows what he’s talking about… So I just got to finish that up and [I have] been working on the cut, and it is just one of the greatest privileges and joys of my life – getting to play in that sandbox.”

Attendees of the panel indicated that she confirmed that she directed two episodes of the eight-episode season, which is consistent with earlier reporting. Filoni also said during Star Wars Celebration that he would be directing again. As it stands, though, there is not yet official confirmation that Getzinger or Engström are directing any episodes of the upcoming season. Additional reporting has indicated that the series will have a trio of cinematographers: Eric Steelberg, Stephan Pehrsson, and Barry Baz Idoine.
Production began on April 28, 2025, with actors Rosario Dawson, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Eman Esfandi, Hayden Christensen, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Lars Mikkelsen, David Tennant, and Ivanna Sakhno confirmed to reprise their roles from the first season, with Steve Blum returning as the voice of Zeb Orrelios from Star Wars Rebels and The Mandalorian, and Rory McCann confirmed to take over for the late Ray Stevenson in the role of Baylan Skoll.
All episodes of Ahsoka Season 1 are available to view on Disney Plus right now, with Season 2 expected to debut sometime next year. The series is produced by Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, Jon Favreau, John Bartnicki, and Carrie Beck, with Filoni writing all episodes of the first and second seasons of the series.
