This week in Toronto, work on the fifth and final season Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is approaching completion and more actors are wrapping up their work for the series. A couple of weeks ago, Warner Bros. Discovery announced it was up for sale, and Paramount Skydance submitted a bid along with Comcast (parent company of NBCUniversal) and Netflix. Even though Paramount was considered to have the edge, today WBD pronounced Netflix as the winner. The announced deal is already coming under heavy scrutiny, and Paramount is not giving up their pursuit. So, once again, the future of the company that owns Star Trek is in flux. Paramount’s flagship Star Trek series is expanding its reach in the UK, with the first season of Strange New Worlds now available on the free streaming service ITVX, with more likely to come. SNW joins ITVX Like in the USA and most of the world, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has been a Paramount+ exclusive in the UK since it premiered in 2022.
