Two new book listings have popped up on Edelweiss recently (thanks to the eagle-eyed folks over at r/starwarsbooks), a The Mandalorian and Grogu Junior Novelization, as well as a horror-themed middle grade novel by Kiersten White. Both novels are set to release this fall with the middle grade novel releasing September 1, 2026 and The Mandalorian and Grogu novelization releasing November 17, 2026. These releases join other 2026 Star Wars book releases, Eyes Like Stars by Ashley Poston, Star Wars: Legacy by Madeleine Roux, and Reign of the Empire: Edge of the Abyss, which is the second installment in the trilogy following Alexander Freed’s, The Mask of Fear.

There is no author yet announced for The Mandalorian and Grogu novelization, but the synopsis is described as:
A novelizaton that retells the Star Wars film The Mandalorian and Grogu—and includes eight pages of full-color images.
Once a lone bounty hunter, Mandalorian Din Djarin and his apprentice Grogu embark on an exciting new Star Wars adventure. This junior novel, which includes eight pages of full-color imags, retells The Mandalorian and Grogu, directed by Jon Favreau, and is sure to thrill fans of all ages.
Interestingly, we still don’t know if there will be an adult novelization of The Mandalorian and Grogu. It seems likely, but clearly Lucasfilm is already banking on the film being popular with a younger crowd. There is a gaping hole in the Random House Worlds release calendar after September’s Edge of the Abyss and a history of same-day releases for adult and junior novelizations in the past, so we shall see.

The horror-themed middle grade novel is likely to be the next publication in the genre-based initiative following the Star Wars romance novel Eyes Like Stars. While we have no title yet for the horror-themed middle grade novel, we do have an author, Kiersten White, as well as a brief synopsis:
Venture beyond the dark side in this chilling horror-themed middle grade novel based on the Star Wars galaxy.
Haunted by an evil presence, a young girl tries to solve a nightmarish mystery. Is her bogeyman a Sith…or something darker? Horror readers and Star Wars fans of all ages will thrill to this fright-filled middle grade novel.
Kiersten White is a prolific adult and middle grade author who also wrote Padawan, an Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon story, as well as the short story “Eyes of the Empire” in the From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back anthology. In addition to her Star Wars experience, she has published a slew of thriller and horror-themed adult and middle grade books, including the And I Darken YA trilogy, and adult thriller, Hide, to name a couple.

When she isn’t watching her friends and family’s eyes glaze over at the mention of The Clone Wars, she’s at the park with her dog, Melvin, or on the couch with a book in one hand and a drink in the other. Physically, she lives in Ohio; spiritually, she lives in Naboo.
