The Obi-Wan Kenobi series is setting fans up for another battle of the titans: Hayden Christensen, who played Anakin Skywalker will return for the new series, Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Set 10 years after Revenge of the Sith, the series will … well we don’t really know. Ostensibly, “Ben” is hanging out on Tatooine waiting for his moment. But some sort of encounter will bring him back to his old padawan. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy says the encounter has an epic scale.

The Obi-Wan series, which stars Ewan McGregor, won’t be out for a little while, thanks in part to it’s trouble production history, which includes a few false starts. So we don’t know quite as much about it. However, we do know that it will take place in roughly the same period as the Cassian Andor show, Andor, between the fall of the Republic and the start of A New Hope.

9 new Star Wars shows revealed as Lucasfilm plots the future on Disney Plus
Seasons 1 and 2 of The Mandalorian was a huge moment for Star Wars, swinging the pendulum of interest toward smaller scale adventures. The memes, Reddit chatter, merch sales, and Disney Plus subscriber numbers indicate that it worked. Now there are plans for more Star Wars than ever.

Ahsoka Tano is getting a spinoff series set in the timeline of The Mandalorian. Rangers of the New Republic is an additional spinoff. Both are coming from Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni.

The Bad Batch will follow characters on new missions in a rapidly changing galaxy. A teaser trailer plays.

Star Wars Visions will be a Star Wars anthology series, offering a “diverse” approach to Star Wars. Lando Calrissian is also returning for a series. The Acolyte will be a mystery series set in the final days of the High Republic era. The Droid and Willow will also be on Disney+. Warwick Davis will return as Willow.

The Mandalorian season 2 wraps up on Dec. 18. After that, expect Andor, The Mandalorian season 3, and then somewhere in the far future, the triumphant return of the second Darth Vader.

Are you as excited as I am to see Hayden Christensen return as Darth Vader?
