Saturday, March 28 is Trek Talks 5, a marathon of Star Trek panels on YouTube to benefit the Hollywood Food Coalition produced by the Trek Geeks, Roddenberry Podcasts, SyFy Sistas, and TrekMovie. Cohosted by John Billingsley and Bonnie Gordon (Star Trek: Prodigy), the event is a day of interviews and panels with Star Trek luminaries from behind and in front of the camera. For Star Trek’s 60th anniversary, we’re featuring guests from across the entire franchise, starting with The Original Series and taking us all the way through to Starfleet Academy.
Panel highlights include a 30th anniversary celebration of Deep Space Nine‘s “Trials and Tribble-ations,” a 25th anniversary Enterprise panel, Starfleet Academy cadets talking with DS9’s Cirroc Lofton, and spotlights with Walter Koenig and Paul Giamatti.
New guests added, plus a special panel for the 60th anniversary
Recently confirmed guests include Kerrice Brooks (Starfleet Academy), Melissa Navia (Strange New Worlds), and Wil Wheaton (TNG, Picard, Prodigy).
There is also a panel called “Remembering Gene and Majel” with their son Eugene, TNG actors Wil Wheaton and Denise Crosby, and people who worked directly with them, Star Trek writer (TAS, TNG) and former NBC publicist Fred Bronson, and former personal assistant to both, Ernie Over.
Where to watch on Saturday, March 28
The pre-show (featuring a coalition of Star Trek podcasters) starts at 9:45 AM PT / 12:45 PM ET and the event runs for approximately eight hours. We’ll have a live chat going too, so please join in.
