The latest issue of Empire Magazine promised a new look at next summer’s The Mandalorian and Grogu, and it delivered. Alongside a new image featuring the titular characters, director Jon Favreau shared some insight into the characters’ relationship as they chart a new path with the New Republic. When we first met Din Djarin in that iconic opening scene of The Mandalorian, he was clearly a lone wolf, moving through his life, capturing bounties, and seemingly focused on his own needs.  By the end of that first episode, he meets Grogu. This Star Wars Character Spotlight is an updated version of an article summarizing Barriss Offee’s story before her return in Tales of the Empire. It has since been updated with details on her appearance in the animated series. Barriss Offee got her start in Legends material. The Mirialan Jedi was created for the novel The Approaching Storm, written by Alan Dean Foster as a tie-in to Attack of The Clones. In that story, Barriss and her Mirialan master Luminara Unduli work with Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi to resolve a border dispute on Ansion. The buildup to the release of Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 continues with behind-the-scenes features for not one, but two episodes releasing online. A new poster and featurette give details for “The Lost Ones,” a sequel to Volume 1’s widely acclaimed “The Village Bride.” Another video shows the development of new short “Black” from storyboard to finished product giving us plenty to whet our appetites before the series releases tomorrow, October 29.  Alongside the featurettes comes a new poster featuring F, the Jedi protagonist from “The Village Bride,” seen holding a flower while petals fall around her. The hype for the second season of Ahsoka is slowly ramping up, with the stars and creators sharing their excitement for the upcoming Disney Plus series, which will continue the adventures of Anakin Skywalker’s former Padawan and her companions in the New Republic era. In 2019, Star Wars finally made the jump to live-action TV with The Mandalorian. That show had an impressive line-up of directors for its first season, but one name many were surprised to see among the roster was that of Bryce Dallas Howard. Although she had directed short films in the past, Howard was best known for her acting career. Her first episode of The Mandalorian marked her television directing debut, and the impressive results spoke for themselves. In the years since, Howard has returned to direct for each subsequent season of The Mandalorian as well as The Book of Boba Fett and Skeleton Crew.
