Details for ‘Star Wars: Visons’ Volume 3 “The Village Bride” Sequel Revealed in New Featurette Alongside New Look at “Black”

The buildup to the release of Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 continues with behind-the-scenes features for not one, but two episodes releasing online. A new poster and featurette give details for “The Lost Ones,” a sequel to Volume 1’s widely acclaimed “The Village Bride.” Another video shows the development of new short “Black” from storyboard to finished product giving us plenty to whet our appetites before the series releases tomorrow, October 29.

Jedi Knight F holds a rose while petals fall around her in new poster for Star Wars: Visions Volume 3

Alongside the featurettes comes a new poster featuring F, the Jedi protagonist from “The Village Bride,” seen holding a flower while petals fall around her. F was last seen with her master Haru, on the run from the Empire where they witnessed a wedding ceremony on a planet rich in the Force. F was masked for most of the episode, but embraced her destiny and revealed herself as a Jedi to save the village from raiders. We now see F open and unmasked in the poster and in the early glimpses of the episode. Now, in a new “Visions Filmmaker Focus” featurette we get a plot summary and some details for how F’s journey will continue:

After escaping a natural disaster, an incognito Jedi is forced to confront the ghosts of her past when a refugee ship is intercepted by the Empire.

A cloud of carbonite gas spreads towards a city in Star Wars Visions: Volume 3

We get some details as to what that natural disaster will look like. Earthquakes trigger a large-scale gas leak at a carbonite mine, releasing a deadly cloud that encases the entire town in carbon-freeze a la Han Solo. F escapes the planet with some friends and boards a refugee ship. She makes new friends and reunites with an old droid companion named Lulu, whose design is inspired by clamshells.

But F will not find respite for long as we see an Imperial Star Destroyer. She emerges from hyperspace to confront the refugee cruiser she finds herself on, whose design take inspiration from manufacturing facilities and the USS Intrepid. Director Hitoshi Haga journeyed on in the Intrepid for inspiration, sharing photos of his voyage alongside images of his trip to Galaxy’s Edge.

Also released today is a look at “Black,” a short film by director Shinya Ohira. The clip shows early hand-drawn storyboards side-by-side with the finished cut from a sequence. The film appears to tell the journey of a Stormtrooper trying to escape the chaos of the Death Star as it comes under fire from X-Wings in what is presumably the battle of Yavin.

Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 will launch on Disney Plus in its entirety in just a few hours on October 29.
