The fourth season of Star Trek: Lower Decks is getting close to the end with the release of the penultimate episode this week. We have the first images from the episode, but details are so far being held back.
Lower Decks Episode 409
Today Paramount+ released a set of images for episode 409 but they did not release any other details, not even the title of the episode. It appears that there is a concern about anything spoiling the episode. At New York Comic Con last weekend, showrunner Mike McMahan talked about his concerns over leaks for episodes 9 and 10:
“The last couple of episodes for this season are a big swing and I am really proud of them and I cannot wait for you to see them. We held them off [from the press] because I don’t even want a breath of what happens in them to get out. And it just feels like the ultimate Star Trek, the ultimate Lower Decks.”
We don’t have a synopsis for the episode, but in his NYCC TrekMovie interview, McMahan specifically highlighted episode 409 when asked if he has a favorite episode for the series:
“For comedy, I think the first “Crisis Point” might be my favorite. But for heart, I think this upcoming episode 9 is my favorite.”
The one thing we do know is episode 409 arrives on Paramount+ on Thursday, October 26.
Outpost scientists!
A couple things can be gleaned from the images released, including how the episode features the return of T’Lyn. Another thing that can be seen are some Federation Outpost Scientists, like the ones that had a recruitment booth set up in the Lower Decks season 3 episode “Reflections.”
