First point your browser to the Aladin Java applet at http://aladin.u-strasbg.fr/AladinJava. There will be a screen about accepting a certificate from the University of Strasbourg -- you will need to accept it.
Click on "Load..." to bring up the Server Selector window
(1) Type in the object name or coordinates and click Submit (3).
Some surveys will be displayed that cover your target, select three of them (2), and click Submit (3).
You should see all three layers appearing in the main window (4)-- be patient as they download.
Click on the RGB button (5) in the toolbar, and a popup window will ask you how to map the layers to the red, green, and blue channels.
If you do not like the color mixture, you can adjust the contrast levels of the data layers with the Pixel button in the toolbar, then generate another color image.
Aladin can do much more that this simple overlay. Read about Aladin in the "Help...." tab.
