Dear NVO News Subscribers:

As you may already know, the follow-on project to the NVO is now active. 
On May 15, 2010, the NSF and NASA announced a cooperative agreement to 
create a new research facility for astronomy: the Virtual Astronomical 
Observatory (VAO). The near-term goal of the VAO is to put useful and 
efficient tools in the hands of research astronomers as soon as possible.

The new mailing list for announcements from the VAO will become active 
soon. This list will be used for occasional announcements (of events and 
software releases, for example) and newsletters related to the Virtual 
Observatory.  The VAO will maintain a continuing effort to be informed 
of current astronomy needs and interests, and we hope this mailing list 
will cultivate discussion and collaboration among users of VO tools and 
services and the technical team that is providing them.

We will transfer your address to this new list (news at usvao.org) on 
February 1. You need do nothing unless you wish to be removed from the 
list. In that case, simply reply to this message with the word 
"UNSUBSCRIBE".
